Freedom of Speech: Student Check-In

Share your perspective with the university

The Office of the Vice-Provost students is hosting two community check-ins with students about Ryerson’s approach to freedom of speech. These meetings are open to any Ryerson undergraduate, graduate or continuing education student. At the meetings, you can:

  • Share ideas about the university’s current (2010) statement on freedom of speech;
  • Get an update about the review and consultations related to this issue;
  • Describe what freedom of speech looks like to you;
  • or Detail concerns related to the statement or consultation process.

If you are unable to attend but wish to share your perspective, you can email vps@ryerson.ca

Feedback from meetings with students, as well as with faculty and staff, will help the university administration determine if Ryerson’s policies require any revisions. If so, broader community consultations will be undertaken.

Please email vps@ryerson.ca if any accommodations are required to ensure your inclusion in this event.

Information about Ryerson’s policies that support freedom of speech can be found at: www.ryerson.ca/freedom-of-speech
