All first year, full-time students starting classes in Fall 2019 are charged a fee of $365 for the RSU Members' Health and Dental Plan. The charge is reflected on your tuition fee statement, and includes health and dental benefits provided by the Plan. Benefits coverage is from September 1, 2019 until August 31, 2020.
All new full-time students just starting classes in Winter 2020 are charged a fee of $306 for the RSU Members' Health and Dental Plan. The charge is reflected on your tuition fee statement, and includes health and dental benefits provided by the Plan. Benefits coverage is from January 1, 2020 until August 31, 2020. If you did NOT opt out online in fall term you cannot apply during the winter term deadline.
If you are a returning student who has never opted out, you will receive the charge as well.
Students enrolled in a Chang School certificate program, a part-time program or students not enrolled in a minimum of one full-time undergraduate course offered through Ryerson are not eligible to be covered by the RSU Members' Health and Dental Plan.

Once you have successfully opted out of the RSU Members’ Health and Dental Plan, your opt-out status will be carried forward in subsequent years, and you will not be assessed the RSU Members’ Health and Dental Plan fee.
Refunds are applied to your student account in November (for Fall opt outs) or March (for Winter opt outs). Please visit the Account Inquiry section of your Student Centre in RAMSS to confirm that the credit has been applied. Check details under Payment section.
If you have a credit on your student fees account (do not owe fees), you may request a refund via the “Request a Refund” link in your Student Center in RAMSS. For detailed instructions, please visit RAMSS Support at this link: http://www.ryerson.ca/
New students wanting to access the plan will have to wait until November or March, as there is a 2 month blackout period while changes are being made to the plan. Keep all original receipts, and we can help you file manual claims at the Member Services Office! Coverage will be retroactive to September 1 or January 1, depending on the term enrolled into the plan.
