Academic Appeals

The RSU is here to help!

The RSU offers legal and advocacy services for students in need and we make every effort to address problems you may be experiencing, financially, academically and in your personal life.

Education is a priceless tool that can be used to achieve success. The RSU believes that all Ryerson students should have access to these tools, which is why our advocacy services are FREE!

This service is provided so that you, the student, can have access to knowledgeable professional staff that can help navigate the policies and procedures that affect your academics directly.

The U201 seminars are held in various locations in the Oakham House (63 Gould Street, at Church):

Grade and Standing Appeal Letter Writing Workshops:

The RSU and CESAR will be holding appeal letter writing workshops.   To get the most out of these letter writing seminars, please pick up a grade appeal information package from the RSU or CESAR, and use the template letters included to get started on your appeal letter.  Please bring a draft of your appeal letter to these workshops.  You will be working with your advocates and other students to learn how to prepare a strong case for yourself.

Students who require extra help may have the opportunity to meet with an RSU or CESAR advocate one on one on a first come, first served basis, only after you have attended a letter writing workshop.

All workshops will be held in the 1st or 2nd floor of the Oakham House (63 Gould Street, at Church). Be sure to bring a draft of your letter so that it can be reviewed independently, with peers, or with an advocate.

Tuesday January 5, 4-6pm  in Oakham Lounge, Student Centre

Thursday, January 7, 1:30-3:30pm in Thomas Lounge, Student Centre

Monday January 11, 6-7:30pm in Thomas Lounge, Student
