Graduate students are represented by other bodies that advocate on their behalf and work to meet the diverse needs of grads and graduate programme demands. As a graduate student at Ryerson, you are also a member of:

  • the Ryerson Students' Union (RSU)
  • the Ontario component of the Canadian Federation of Students (CFS) and the Ontario Graduate Caucus (OGC)
  • the National body of the Canadian Federation of Students and the National Graduate Caucus (NGC)

Check out the Canadian Federation of Students (CFS) website.

The RSU and the CFS are the vehicles that allow students to work together to ensure your voice is heard by decisions makers. Equally important, the RSU and the CFS through a united student movement can provide cost-saving and student life enhancing services, like the International Student Identity Card (ISIC), the Student Saver Card, discount cell phone deals through Student Phones. For information on these and other great services come to the RSU's Member Services Office, located in the Student Centre lobby.

REPRESENTATION BY PROGRAMME: Each programme in the School of Graduate Studies has their own Graduate Students' Association (GSA). The GSA is funded through the Ryerson Students' Union and supported directly by the Graduate Executive Committee.

GSAs hold events and help to improve the lives of graduate students. For more info on your programme GSA contact RSU's Campus Groups Administrator, Leatrice O'Neill, by email: campusgroups@rsuonline.ca or phone: 416.979.5255. ext. 2323.
