The Racialised Students' Collective operates as a Collective, meaning that you can join our space and help direct our organisational mandate, find a social and activist support network and decompress. You can find our meeting schedule on our Tumblr Calendar.
The Racialised Students' Collective works with a number of campus partners including the United Black Students at Ryerson, the Carribean Students' Association, the East African Students' Association and the African Students' Association to put on Black History Month events over the course of February. We always welcome new organising members, so email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our major Black History Month events are Queering Black History Month and These Words of Mine, a night of black poetry, drama and music.
The Racialised Students' Collective and the Centre for Women & Trans People cohost the annual Racialised & Indigenous Women's Symposium every year in March. The symposium will often focus on specific themes with a number of workshops, discussion groups, performances and hands on activities over the course of a day. The organising committee is always open to new members, contact email@example.com to get involved.
The Racialised Students' Collective will usually hold a number of workshops throughout the year. Past workshops have focused on mythbusting and movement building in racialised communities, while other workshops have focused on self and community care and building systems of support. Let us know if you have any ideas or want to work with us to build a custom workshop by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Ryerson Students’ Union strives to create accessible and inclusive spaces for all of its members. If we require additional accommodations to ensure your participation please email email@example.com two days before the event or as soon as possible.
