As a student-run and student-focused organisation, RyeACCESS offers a number of services to students at Ryerson University. RyeACCESS is always interested in hearing what services you require or desire, whether that is a RyeACCESS or central university service. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
RyeACCESS does not have the resources or authority to provide all the types of services that students require to have an accessible educational environment. However, RyeACCESS has a history and the voice to create the services and environments we require. We are committed to providing advocacy, campaigns, outreach and education on both systemic and individual issues faced by students with disabilities.
Get involved with our campaigns such as Unlearn Ableism, Sanism, Audism; help lobby for better mental health services; or come to us if you are having an issue with a professor regarding accomodations. We want to get your input.
In addition to being really fun, our events are also a service of RyeACCESS. Give us feedback on events and programmes that we offer and suggest some new ideas. We want to build a campus that supports students with disabilities and engages with critical disability thought.
Stop by our Office and have a conversation with us! You can chat about anything or nothing, the space is yours (as long as you are respectful). Consider volunteering.
During the fall and winter semesters, RyeACCESS offers American Sign Language (ASL) courses. The courses run weekly and are subsidised to keep costs low. You can sign up for courses at this Eventbrite link.
