ZAINIB SHAH
For the Students

Hello! My name is Zainab Shah and I am a fourth year Business Management student majoring in Human Resources and Organizational Behaviour. I am very passionate about the environment and try to do my part to save the planet. In my free time I love to read and paint, I am not the best painter but I still love it! As a fourth year student I have come to realize the pivotal role a student union plays in the university experience by building a community where students support students. I have met many students who are not exposed to these services and miss out on the advantages they offer. I believe that the services provided by a student union should be highlighted and advertised in such a way that it empowers and supports the student body. I hope to build an inclusive and accessible environment that enhances the university experience by focusing on services that target key student issues such as mental health, accessibility and transparency. I want to help students realize that tuition is not the only thing that they pay into while attending Ryerson and help them take advantage of these things by making the RSU work For the Students again.

ELIANA MCKENZIE
For the Students

Hey! My name is Eliana McKenzie and I am in my third year of studying Marketing Management at TRSM. I am also pursuing a minor in Professional Communications. Pre-pandemic, my spare time was spent hanging out with my friends and family. During COVID times, I have been enjoying reading, blogging, baking, and watching the Real Housewives. As a double minority, I have first hand experience of the extra difficulties that come with being a university student. This is why visibility and representation is so important. I have been involved in student groups since my first year of Ryerson. Through this experience, I have learned that I enjoy being part of bettering the student experience. My time at Ryerson has demonstrated that there are improvements to be made at Ryerson and within TRSM. I joined For the Students in order to be part of that change. I believe that since we are paying to extend our education, we are entitled to more academic opportunities and facilitate a better Ryerson experience. This includes improving the quality of education as well as making scholarships more accessible.
