Vice-President Operations Candidates

JENNA JIANG
For the Students

My name is Jenna Jiang, and I am running to be your next RSU Vice-President Operations.

I believe that you deserve a students union that is transparent, organized, and competent. My team and I are committed to work For The Students.

My number one priority is transparency. It is important that students know what they’re paying for.

Who even knows what their Health and Dental plan covers? I will continue to find more coverage, and properly advertise all the benefits included, often. My goal is to support all students, student groups, and course unions with their finances. I plan to make the reimbursement process faster for student groups, and have an open door policy for all students to give me feedback. To properly support students, we will ensure the RSU is set up to run efficiently with qualified full-time staff. When campus reopens, Copyrite will be better staffed for shorter lines! Budget consultations will be open to students, and financial statements will be easily accessible on the website. Student money will not be stolen on my watch. VAISHALI VINAYAK
ADAPT

Vaishali is a 4th-year Business Management student passionate about responsible government, academic policy and ethical business practices. This year she is the VP of Equity at the Ryerson Students Union, where she created mutually beneficial partnerships to serve our student's needs. During her time as the VP of Equity, she put together a comprehensive food box program to address Ryerson's food insecurity. She operated the equity service centres in total capacity during a global pandemic and provided students with various events through an online platform. She also created the food relief grant, a student ambassador program for volunteers for the equity service centres, and Anti-Indigenous Racism Training for the board. She worked on installing dispensers of menstrual products in the SCC building to address period poverty. If elected, she'd like to take an active role in reshaping the RSU's annual budget, prioritize creating student jobs, assist students through the OSAP application process, and bring more exciting experiential learning opportunities to campus. Vaishali's experience and skills with policy-making, communication and partnership building will make her an excellent and effective VP of Operations.
