What are My Coverage Options?

How to Get 100% Coverage

Use More Than One Plan to Maximize Your Coverage!

Do you have more than one benefit plan? Student Plan, Parent’s Plan, Employer Plan or Spouse’s Plan? If so, those plans can work together to make sure you are getting the most out of your coverage. One plan becomes your primary plan. It pays your claims first. Then the second plan pays toward the remaining cost.

Students who have health or dental coverage through their school: these plans will always pay before any plan where the student is covered as a dependent.

I have Opted Out PREVIOUSLY do I need to opt-out again?

If you have already successfully opted out of the RSU health and dental plan in the previous years, you will NOT receive a charge for the RSU health and dental plan on your RAMSS account. You do NOT need to apply online again.

How do I Opt-Out if I have other comparable coverage?

If you have alternate coverage and wish to decline coverage under the RSU health and dental plan instead of coordinating with your existing coverage, you will be required to complete your opt out online application by deadline date of FRIDAY OCTOBER 2nd, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.  Upon successfully opting out of the plan, your health and dental plan refund will be credited to your RAMSS account by Early November for Fall term students. This credit will be applied to any outstanding fees on your RAMSS account. Apply for opt out refund on line via
